What I Have Learned Thus Far...

Since I started blogging I have learned a tremendous amount about design, and creating a fab space. I always look to be different from the next in some way, and I see that it is paying off. We had a gathering the other day and we received some wonderful compliments. That made me happy and satisfied with what I have started.
So here are my lessons:

.) Long gone are the day of buying "living room sets" and "bedroom sets".... BYE BYE, it's been nice

.) Buying in pieces gives the room more character. Like friends meeting up. Start with a sofa and build from there

.) Patterns such as IKAT are timeless and look great on a small sofa, chair, and of course on a pillow

.) If you don't have built in bookcases, buy one and adorn it with fabulous books and things of interest

.) Stripes on a rug add some jazz where ever it's placed

.) You cant go wrong with a chandelier as a light source. Instant glam where ever it is added. Kitchen, bathroom, bedroom...no rules

.) Vintage redone is SO IN. We should all be begging our elders for their stuff

.) Gray is the new beige. The right Gray though

.) Black on the wall says your not afraid to take risks. I am working on that now

.) Having a "milk" piece is essential. They are easy to find, and easy on the wallet if you look in the right place

.) Trellis in anything is a yes

.) Chalkboard creations say: "I GOT THIS." It's easy to do. The hard part is trying to decide what to paint it on
